My relationship with bodywork began long before it became my profession.
When I was twelve, my baby brother was very sick. My family had explored countless conventional approaches when we were introduced to foot zoning. Over the following six months, we witnessed changes that profoundly shaped the way I understood the body.
At twelve years old, I began asking a question that has stayed with me ever since:
What becomes possible when we stop fighting the body and begin giving it what it needs to return toward balance?
By sixteen, I was training in foot zoning and beginning a much broader education in the human body. I studied nutrition, herbalism, environmental influences, structural alignment, fascia, and the many interconnected factors that contribute to how we feel and function.
More importantly, I began learning how to listen to the body.
I came to understand health not simply as the absence of symptoms, but as a relationship. Our posture, movement, nourishment, environment, experiences, stress, beliefs, and the language we use toward ourselves all influence that relationship. I became fascinated by the patterns held within the muscular and fascial systems and by the body's remarkable capacity to adapt when given consistent, intentional support.
That foundation naturally led me into massage and therapeutic bodywork, and later into Kambo and other practices centered around working in partnership with the body.
I have been developing and refining this work since I was sixteen.
Today, my massage practice brings those years of experience together. Sessions may incorporate deep tissue work, myofascial release, postural and fascial opening, stretching, cupping, scraping, and intuitive therapeutic techniques. I am interested not only in where something hurts, but in why the body may be compensating there and what needs to change throughout the larger system to create more ease.
The work can be deep and thorough while remaining relaxing. I don't believe the body needs to be fought, forced, or punished into change. I believe our bodies are our allies.
My role is to listen carefully, work intentionally, and create the conditions in which the body can soften, open, move differently, and reconnect with its own capacity for balance.
That has been the heart of my practice from the beginning:
Work with the body, not against it.
And after decades of learning, that simple relationship remains one of the most important things the body has taught me.
